Leechers' Philosophy

I’m starting a post about something that I’ve been noticing for a long time now, which I ignored due to specific sorceress careless attitude and which ended up in a series of questions which can’t be ignored anymore: the leechers! Who are the leechers, what is the leechers’ philosophy, what do they think and feel, what do they want from life, which are the latest trends in leeching?
First, I may say that the leecher is a wide spread specie, both in-game and in life. In both, really easy to recognize, they do anything else but what would be supposed to do. I will never understand why does anyone pay a subscription if not to play, but this is a different chapter. So, the in-game leecher will stand at the gate of the warcamp (stand because unfortunately there is no command to /sit, but if there would be one, lots of the toons there would /sit and proly even /sleep). You know for sure it’s a leecher when you die ten times and choose to go back to warcamp and you find it there, in the same place and you feel the need to /slap it. I noticed the behavior in keep too, but I’m not 100% sure, so no labeling for the keep dwellers atm.
IRL, you can easily recognize the leecher by the general occupation in complaining about stuff, and a sudden show-off in a huge smile when the boss comes in and a parade of stupid long talking that amazes the general public, but again, highly depends on the nature of work and social environment. Usually, the leecher shows up when it comes to getting prizes and credits and vanishes when it comes to do some work. Just saying. Of course it leaves a bitter taste when at the end of the game, everybody wins. To quote a companion “gg leechers on the right side, enjoy your leechers’ bags”. Here we come across some outstanding trends, like leeching PvE XP and loot, in TOVL for ex., where a bunch of people does something and another bunch does nothing! And they have their (un)fair share loot! Fine, if you’re really introverted, you can live even with this, God bless ignore option. But it comes  a time when you really get mad. And this is when the bunch of leechers would do a difference, because you need numbers and masses!  In-game, you can’t take a keep, because the other realm will outnumber you, by the number of people REALLY playing. And ROFL when the others have AAO while you don’t even see your warband on the map, ‘cause the warband is on the outer gate of the warcamp. And you spend hours trying to make them PLAY because FFS you’re there to PLAY and you’re speaking to the walls. And you give up. And then you ask yourself how can you do something IRL, like simply get a higher salary or make a vacation with some friends when you can’t make people fight together for a common cause IN A GAME? Not to speak about up-aspirational goals like changing the government, changing the president, push for better laws or for a more rightful society. Let’s say we’re not that interested in public common-wealth.
Don’t get me wrong, I am the newbiest sorc ever and I’ll remain the newbiest sorc ever. And probably I’m not doing much better than average newbie in real life as well. But I’m struggling to do my newbiest best possible and I’ll always do that. And I would love that more people would wake up from their apathy, in game and outside it.
Yours truly, Maliae, Sorceress of Anger
